Meopham's Most Popular Boilers

Vaillant Boiler

Vaillant

Vaillant are one of the most popular boiler manufacturers in the UK. They were apparently the first company to make a “combi” boiler back in the early 1960’s. So they’re a well established company.

Worcester Bosch

Worcester Bosch are among the best known boiler manufacturers in the country. If you want a high quality boiler, but still want to “buy British”, then Worcester Bosch boilers are a great choice. However, they are among the more expensive boilers we install.

Viessmann

Viessmann is the greatest boiler make you’ve never heard of. But don’t let that put you off. Viessmann are a huge brand in Europe and, like Vaillant, they’re German and have been established for over 100 years.

Baxi

Baxi Boilers are another great British heating make, started in the industrial revolution by Richard Baxendale, an iron founder, who began the Baxendale Company (now Baxi) in 1866, based in Preston in Lancashire. Today, Baxi also makes boilers under the Main and Potterton brands. We recommend Baxi boilers as the least disruptive replacement for some conventional boilers – and their Main brand for people who want to keep costs down.

FAQ

Generally, if you have one bathroom as well as excellent pressure at your kitchen tap or outside tap, a combination boiler is generally the very best choice for most people.
If you have got more than one bathroom, then a conventional, also called a “heat only” boiler (or perhaps a system boiler) with a hot water cylinder could be the best choice for you.

No. For existing homes, if you have to replace your boiler from 2035 onwards, you will not be able to put in another gas boiler. According to current government plans, you would have to fit a Hydrogen boiler or a heat pump. However, if your gas boiler is working in 2035, you will not be required to do anything up until it needs to be replaced, such as if it’s broken down and irreparable.

It can vary widely depending on what you require.
However as a rough estimate, to take your old boiler out and put a brand-new one in the same location varies from about ₤1800 to ₤3000.
And strip out an old sort of heating system with a hot water tank {and} fit a combi boiler costs between about ₤3000 to ₤5000.
If you require various other jobs carried out at the same time, such as a power flush, a new gas pipeline, or brand-new radiators, this will certainly contribute to the estimated costs.

If you have only got one bathroom as well as excellent water pressure, then yes.
If you have got more than one bathroom or inadequate water pressure, then no{, you should look at a conventional boiler or a system boiler}.

Yes. There are numerous kinds of smart thermostats that can connect to the web so you can regulate your boiler from your phone. Some brands customers choose are Nest, Honeywell, Tado, as well as Hive.

6 Reasons Why You Should Replace Your Boiler

1. Cut Your Gas Bills

Did you know that old fashioned G-rated boilers waste 45pence of every £1 you spend on gas? That’s a huge waste of gas and money. But if you get a new A-rated boiler, only 8-9pence in every pound is wasted. That’s a huge saving that can total up to £570 every year.

2. Stop Paying For Boiler Breakdowns

There’s a misconception that new boilers are more complex making them more liable to go wrong. With poorer quality boilers, that may be the case. But with good quality boilers, the opposite is true. They’re engineered with minimal moving parts and all the necessary moving parts are designed to last for as long as possible.

3. More powerful showers and fast filling baths

Did you know a new boiler can give you a more powerful shower? Fitting a new combi boiler or unvented hot water cylinder gives the “power shower” experience without the expensive and noisey pump. If you would like to know if your home is suitable for these types of boilers, please get in touch on 0808 196 4649.

4. Stop running out of hot water

If you find you keep running out of hot water, then your hot water cylinder may be too small – or it may be full of limescale. To fix this, you can either replace your hot water cylinder for a newer efficient one, or if your home is suitable, you can take out your old boiler and hot water tank and replace them both with a combi boiler. This will give you as much hot water as you need and save you space because you don’t need a seperate cylinder and tanks in the loft.

5. Create extra space

It doesn’t matter whether you live in a one bedroom apartment or a 6 bedroom detached house, we all crave more space. And when you upgrade your central heating system, there are plenty of chances to free up more room in your home. New boilers can be installed out of the way in areas like lofts, airing cupboards or garages. Some boilers, like combi boilers, don’t need tanks or hot water cylinders either, which immediately creates more room in your airing cupboard and loft.

6. Don’t worry about switching the boiler on or off again.

The brilliant thing about modern boiler timers and thermostats is that you hardly need to adjust them. They automatically adjust when the clocks change, and once they’re set up, you’ll always feel comfortable and warm. Not too hot and not too cold. And because these advanced boiler controls also know the temperature outside, they can reduce the power to the boiler on warm days, saving you money on your gas bills.
