What Boilers Do We Recommend To Customers In Joydens Wood?

Vaillant Boiler

Vaillant Boilers

Vaillant are one of the best known boiler brands in the UK. They were apparently the first company to make a “combi”also known as a “combination” boiler back in the early 60’s. So they’re a well established company.

Worcester Bosch Boilers

Worcester Bosch are probably the best known boiler brand in the country. If you want a high quality boiler, but still want to support British manufacturing, then Worcester Bosch boilers are an excellent choice. However, they are among the most expensive boilers we install.

Viessmann Boilers

Viessmann is the best boiler make you’ve never heard of. We’re big fans of Viessmann at Thames Boilers because their build quality is as good as (if not better) than Vaillant or Worcester Bosch, however their prices are a little lower. This makes them fantastic value – and Which? agree, giving Viessmann boilers several ”Best Buy” awards in recent years.

Baxi Boilers

Baxi is another well established British heating make, started in the industrial revolution by Richard Baxendale, an iron founder, who began the Baxendale Company in 1866, based in Preston in Lancashire. These days, Baxi also make well known Main and Potterton boiler brands, as part of the Baxi group. We usually recommend Baxi boilers as the least disruptive replacement to some conventional boilers – and their Main brand for people who want to keep costs down.

FAQ

As a rule, if you‘ve one bathroom and good pressure at your kitchen tap or outside tap, a combi boiler is normally the best option for most people.
If you‘ve got more than one bathroom, a conventional, also called a “heat only” boiler (or perhaps a system boiler) with a hot water cylinder would be the most effective option for you.

No. For existing residences, if you need to replace your boiler from 2035 onwards, you will not be able to put in another gas boiler. Going by current government plans, you would need to fit a Hydrogen boiler or a heat pump. Nonetheless, if your gas boiler is operating in 2035, you will not need to do anything up until it needs to be replaced, such as if it’s broken down and irreparable.

It can differ widely depending upon what you need.
However as a rough guide, to take your old boiler out and put a new one in the same location ranges from about ₤1800 to ₤3000.
And take out an old kind of system with a hot water cylinder {and} put in a combi boiler costs between about ₤3000 and ₤5000.
If you need various other work carried out at the same time, such as a power flush, a new gas pipeline, or brand-new radiators, this will add to the estimated price.

If you‘ve only got 1 bathroom and good water mains pressure, yes.
If you‘ve got more than 1 bathroom or poor water mains pressure, then no{, you should look at a conventional boiler or a system boiler}.

Yes. There are numerous kinds of smart thermostats that can link to the net so you can control your boiler from your phone. Some brands people go for are Nest, Honeywell, Tado, and Hive.

Is Now The Time To Install A New Boiler? Here Are 6 Things You'll Love About Them

1. Save Money On Your Gas Bill

Did you know that old fashioned G-rated boilers waste 45pence of every £1 you spend on gas? That’s a massive waste of gas and money. But if you get a new A-rated boiler, only 8-9pence in every pound is wasted. That’s a massive saving that can add up to up to £570 every year.

2. Save Money On Boiler Breakdowns

Boiler engineering in the last 20 years has massively improved. High quality new boilers don’t go wrong as often as old boilers because modern boilers contain minimal moving parts and are subject to rigorous quality control.

3. Really powerful showers and fast filling baths

Combi boilers and unvented hot water tanks get their water supply straight from your mains water, rather than a cold water tank in the loft. This means you can get fantastic high pressure hot and cold water at all of your taps and showers. So you can get a “power shower” experience without tanks in the loft or a booster pump. This saves you space and eliminates the chance of a pump going wrong (because you won’t have one)!

4. Stop running out of hot water

Have you ever looked forward to a nice bath or shower and realised you’ve ran out of hot water? With an upgraded heating system, you’ll never need to worry about running out of hot water. When a system is properly designed and set up, you’ll always have lovely hot water for whatever you want, whenever you need it.

5. Create space in your home

We all need more space, regardless of where we live. So why not free up some more when you upgrade your boiler? If you install a combi boiler, you won’t need your hot water cylinder or your tanks in the loft. So removing them gives you loads of extra storage space in the airing cupboard and the loft. Plus modern boilers can be fitted almost anywhere, so you’re not resticted to installing it the kitchen or on outside walls. Sometimes people install their new boilers in the garage, loft, or even the basement.

6. Never worry about switching the boiler on or off again.

Did you know the very latest heating and boiler controls are as easy to use as a tablet? Gone are the days of squinting at the miniscule screen on the heating timer and digging out the user manual just to change the heating times. Today, you can program your heating either through the simple (and free) apps that come with your new control, or scroll through the large colour screen to easily change your settings. And best of all, once you’ve set everything up, your new boiler and heating controls will keep your home at a perfect temperature without using any more energy than absolutely necessary.
